As we are sure you are now aware, unfortunately Gardners have had to make the decision to temporarily suspend taking new orders for physical products in our warehouse. Our incredible workforce had been working hard to offer the same high standards as long as it could, but it was becoming increasingly difficult for us to keep our staff safe and still operate at the same levels. Staff safety has been, and remains, paramount to any decisions formed.
As promised we said we would keep you up to date on any changes, and that we were looking about what services we are able to turn back on.
1st April - we are pleased to confirm that our digital warehouse is continuing to run as normal, so you are able to order e-products (eBooks and eAudiobooks) as usual.
3rd April - We are delighted to be able to re-instate our Home Delivery service for UK customers to be able to use. We have managed to set a safe working environment for a team of staff, adhering to guidelines previously set out, and working comfortably within current government guidelines.
Home delivery orders will currently be restricted to single line orders only at this time, this ensures we can continue a safe service. For the time being it will also only cover in-stock lines. We currently have in excess of 400,000 lines in stock, so are pleased to be able to offer this service to help our customers once again during this difficult and uncertain time.
Gardners are committed to maintaining our service levels and as such, we are constantly reviewing plans and looking at ways to safely switch services back on. We will continue to update our customers as soon as we have further news.

I see in the trade press you have started trading again are you open for business as normal now
-We are only offering a limited service to a number of online business’s
-There are only a limited number of people working in the warehouse, as when its appropriate we will increase our numbers and then increase the service and range offer
How will I know when you are opening again for sending orders or taking deliveries
- we have a contact list of all our distributors and suppliers that we will email out to informing them of our intentions
I have orders awaiting delivery what should I do
-await contact from us of when we will start taking in deliveries
How do I tell you about our new publications or important titles
-we ask that you hold back on sending us any new information until you hear we are ready to receive
-you will be asked to collate all your titles and ensure publication dates are still valid
-we ask that you ensure all your data feeds are maintained as these are still being processed
I have sent you stock but cannot see its available to order
-we are slowly presenting titles we have in stock, not everything is showing until we have fully integrated all our picking systems
-we are still processing some deliveries received just before our closure
Can you fulfil orders on our behalf that we are receiving from our own reseller customers
-We can only recommend at this stage that any reseller customer who has an account with Gardners use their wholesale account
Can you send your orders for my books to me so I can send them out to customers
-This is not a service or facility we have the ability to offer
What’s happening with the emails I have been sending
-they will be held until appropriate staff return. We ask you refrain from sending any until instructed otherwise.
